The Role...
The Director leads GlobalData’s Health System Intelligence consulting practice, overseeing a multidisciplinary team of five consultants with expertise in modeling, data analytics, health workforce analysis, and health economics. The Director is accountable for the strategic direction, delivery quality, and growth of engagements serving federal and state government agencies, trade and professional associations, and health systems. The role requires deep expertise in how the U.S. healthcare system operates, including the incentives and challenges of payers, providers, and patients, and the ability to produce rigorous, evidence-based analyses in support of client strategic planning and policy advocacy. The Director is the senior external face of the practice, responsible for client relationships at the executive level, business development, team development, and thought leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Practice Leadership
- Define and execute the strategic vision for the Health System Intelligence practice, aligning service offerings with evolving client needs and market trends.
- Set and uphold quality standards for all analytical work products, ensuring methodological rigor and policy relevance.
- Integrate GlobalData’s proprietary data assets, simulation models, and databases to differentiate client engagements.
- Collaborate with leaders across GlobalData’s Life Sciences vertical to develop integrated, multi-disciplinary solutions for complex client challenges.
Team Management and Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of consultants, fostering a culture of analytical excellence and continuous learning.
- Oversee recruiting, onboarding, and professional development to build and sustain practice capacity.
- Promote a collaborative environment that encourages knowledge sharing with colleagues in sales, research, and client success.
Client Engagement and Business Development
- Serve as senior relationship manager for government, association, and health system clients, building trusted long-term partnerships and ensuring client satisfaction and retention.
- Engage clients at the executive level to understand strategic priorities, define project objectives, and ensure delivery of high-value insights.
- Lead identification and pursuit of new business opportunities; develop compelling proposals and achieve annual revenue and net income targets.
- Monitor competitive dynamics and emerging client needs to inform service development and positioning.
Thought Leadership
- Author and disseminate peer-reviewed publications, white papers, policy briefs, and conference presentations that establish GlobalData as a leading voice in health system analytics.
- Represent GlobalData at national conferences, federal advisory meetings, and industry forums.
- Stay current on health policy, payment and delivery system reform, and health workforce dynamics.
What We Are Looking For...
Required Experience and Education
- 10+ years' experience in health policy, health systems, workforce, health economics, or related fields.
- Master's or doctorate in public health, health policy, health economics, business, or a related discipline.
- Deep understanding of the U.S. healthcare ecosystem, including payers, providers, health systems, and patients.
- Proven success managing complex consulting engagements for government, healthcare, or association clients.
- Strong record of publications, white papers, reports, or thought leadership.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Business development experience with proven revenue generation.
- Experience partnering with federal and state health organizations.
- Leadership experience managing consulting teams and programs.
- Knowledge of health system and economic modeling methodologies.
- Strong network across public health and healthcare leadership stakeholders.
